The application features real-time protection, detection and removal of viruses, trojans, worms, spyware, adware and keyloggers, as well as detection and removal of rootkits. KIS also includes a personal firewall, parental control and spam and phishing protection. Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 now also features a full HIPS system for application control and improved detection for suspicious packers and advanced heuristics to proactively detect new malware. In addition, it features automatic update and a tool for creating rescue disks, as well as a self defense feature which prevents it being disabled by malware. Version 2009 introduces Virtual Keyboard, which can be used to prevent keystroke logging.
